What is FamilyWall for Sprint℠?

FamilyWall for Sprint is a private space where you can communicate, organize, share, remember, and even locate…those that matter most. With FamilyWall for Sprint, you can send pictures, video and audio messages privately to one or several members of your Wall. You can organize your family life with a shared calendar, lists, contacts, with an easy daily and weekly planning tracker; You can compile your best moments in an album that can be easily shared with friends and family; You can even locate members by sharing locations.

With FamilyWall for Sprint, you can create as many Walls as you want. Walls can be used for immediate and extended family, friends, sports teams, clubs, and much more. It’s all up to you.

FamilyWall for Sprint users get all the benefits of social sharing in a secure and private space.

Who can use FamilyWall for Sprint?

FamilyWall for Sprint is available exclusively to Sprint IL (Individual Liable) consumers. Non-Sprint consumers can participate on a Wall when invited by a Sprint customer but are unable to create their own Walls.

Is FamilyWall for Sprint free?

FamilyWall for Sprint is available exclusively to Sprint consumers, at no charge, on iOS and Android phones. While there is no cost for FamilyWall for Sprint, users who require additional storage or have an interest in enhanced features, such as the ability to view photos and videos in HD, may subscribe to FamilyWall for Sprint Premium for $2.99 per month for one Wall or to FamilyWall for Sprint Premium+ for $5.99 per month for up to 10 Walls.

What platforms are compatible with FamilyWall for Sprint?

FamilyWall for Sprint is available on iOS, Android phones and PC. Stay tuned, more platforms, such as iPad, Android Tablets and Windows Phone are Coming Soon.

2. GETTING STARTED

How can I get the service on my phone?

To download FamilyWall for Sprint:

From your iPhone or Android, select the iTunes App Store or Google Play icon. Go to Search on the bottom right corner of the screen and type "FamilyWall for Sprint" into the search bar. Next, click on the FamilyWall for Sprint icon and then select Install. Once the download is complete open the FamilyWall for Sprint app and enjoy. Happy Sharing!

From your PC, simply go to http://sprint.com/familywall and you can register for the service online.

How do I create a new Wall?

To create an account from your mobile:

After downloading and installing the application, tap on the Application icon to get started.

  • Click on the Start a Wall button in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • You will be asked to enter your mobile number.
  • Once you enter your number, you will be asked to complete your profile. All fields are mandatory.
  • On the next screen, you will be notified that a pin code is being sent by SMS to your phone, so you can validate your number (Note: depending on your location, the text message with the pin code may take several minutes. If you have not received the pin code message within five minutes, click on Resend Message).
  • Enter the pin code you receive and select Continue.
  • Enter the name of your Wall.
  • Invite family members and/or friends to join your Wall via email or SMS.

Note that either your mobile phone or your email may be used as your user ID to login to your account.

You can also create an account from the web site sprint.com/familywall:

  • Go to sprint.com/familywall.
  • Press the Start Now button on the Home Page
  • Follow the steps to complete your registration.
How do I invite new members?

IMPORTANT: Only the Wall founder or an administrator can invite new members to Join a Wall. This can be managed under the Settings section.

To add members from your phone:

  • Click on the "add member" icon on the Wall's cover.
  • Go to the FamilyWall for Sprint main menu and click on the Add New Member icon.

To add members from the web:

  • Click on your first name in the top right corner to open the menu.
  • Select Invite a New Member

You can also choose to add a member manually or directly from your address book. Simply fill in the required information and send your invitation.

Invitees will receive either an email or text message invitation depending on the information you provide. Once the invitation is accepted, you will be notified that they have joined your Wall.

How do I join a Wall?

In order to connect to a Wall, enter the login and password you used to create your account.

  • To launch the application from your mobile phone, select "Join a Wall" and enter your mobile number. If an account or a pending invitation related to this phone number exists, simply enter your password in the second field (see screenshots below).

To launch the application from the Web, simply enter your login and password at the top right corner of the Home Page in the login section.

Why would I create multiple Walls?

With FamilyWall for Sprint, you can create multiple private Walls to communicate with separate groups, such as family, friends, co-workers, teams, clubs (…).

For example, you may want a Wall for your immediate family, where you can share pictures, schedules, and member locations privately. You may want a neighborhood Wall, where you and your neighbors can share information about community activities. You may want a Wall for your work team, where you can share work schedules and tasks. You may want a Wall for your sports team or club where you can share photos, videos and important updates.

FamilyWall for Sprint makes staying connected to all of the most important people in your life easy by helping you organize them into individual, private groups.

Each Wall is separate and private; you get to decide who is invited, and all shared content is Wall specific, so members of one Wall will not have access to the content of your other Walls.

If you have multiple Walls, you can quickly switch from one to another by clicking on the Multi-Wall icon at the top right corner of the "Activity" screen.

How do I change my profile picture?

You may not have taken the time to upload your profile picture while signing in. Not to worry, you can easily change it by clicking on your avatar and updating your profile picture.

To change your profile photo:

  • Click on your profile photo in the Settings section.
  • A pop-up menu will guide you through uploading a new picture, either from your Gallery or from your camera.

If you are using the web:

  • Click on your first name in the upper right corner of Activity Wall.
  • Click on Preferences and then on Wall Members
  • Click on your Profile Photo to change it.
How do I change my name?

You can always edit your personal information by selecting Settings from the main menu and clicking on your name to edit the information.

Note that the picture, the name, and the role will only be changed for the Wall you are in. Each Wall can have a different personal profile that the members will see.

To update your information for each individual Wall, you can select the Wall you want to update the profile for, select the image of your Avatar Icon or go to Settings to change or update your profile for that Wall.

How do I create an additional Wall?

Creating additional Walls can only be done in the FamilyWall for Sprint app. To Add a Wall:

  • Open the Multi-Wall menu by clicking on the Multi-Wall icon in the upper right corner of the Activity section.
  • Click on Add a Wall

3. PRIVACY & SECURITY

I forgot my password, how can I access my account?

If you forget your password and can no longer access your account, it is possible to reset it. Select Forgot password? on the login screen, and enter the email or phone number you used to log in.

An email will be sent to you with a link to reset your password.

Once the password has been reset, you can log in to the service via the mobile application, using your login and your new password.

How do I change my password?

You can change your password:

  • From mobile application, open the application menu and select Settings then Password.
  • From Web, open the menu by clicking on your name in the top right corner then select Change Password.

You must provide the current password and enter a new password. Your password should be at least 5 characters.

What do I do if FamilyWall for Sprint is malfunctioning?

If you are experiencing an issue with FamilyWall for Sprint, first make sure you have updated to the latest FamilyWall for Sprint version in the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store.

If you are running the latest version of the application, uninstall the FamilyWall for Sprint application and try to reinstall the application and sign-in.

If you are still having issues, try to restart your phone. If you have done all of these things and the issue continues, please visit sprint.com/contactus or sprint.com/storelocator to find a Spint store near you.

How do I change my information?

A Wall member can change his or her profile information at any time. Only an administrator can change the Wall name and logo.

To change your profile from the mobile application:

  • Click on your name or your photo in the Settings menu.
  • Click on the Edit icon in the top right corner of your profile screen.
  • You can change Wall information by clicking on the Wall Management screen of the Settings section.

To change your profile from the web:

  • Go to the top right menu and select Wall Settings.
  • Then select "Wall members" in the left menu and click on your profile
  • Click on the "Edit" icon to modify your profile informations
Who can see the information I publish?

All data you publish on FamilyWall for Sprint is visible only to your Wall members and Wall members that you choose to share with. This data is kept on a private Wall and limited to members specific to that Wall. Please note that FamilyWall for Sprint and Family Wall are two different services.

Messaging is private. You can send a message to one or many members of a Wall, and only the chosen recipients will be able to view the message.

What does it mean to be an Administrator?

Only Administrators can invite people to join a Wall or remove members from it.

To give and remove Admin rights:

  • Go to Settings
  • Go to Manage Walls
  • Choose the Wall you want to edit
  • Go to Manage Administrators
  • Turn the Administrator button on or off
How do I remove myself from a Wall?

To remove yourself from a Wall:

  • Go to Settings
  • Click on your profile photo
  • Click on the Leave this Wall button.
How do I remove a member from my Wall?

Each Wall member has the ability to delete his or her own account.

Only an administrator can remove other members. However, the administrator cannot delete the Wall founder's account.

As an administrator, you can remove members by opening the profile of the member you would like to remove. The deletion icon is available on the header bar.

Online, open the Preferences screen by clicking on your name in the top right corner. In Wall Members section, you can remove any members of your wall by clicking on the "Remove" icon just next to his/her name.

If a Wall founder wants to leave a Wall (remove his or her account) that has other members, there should be at least another administrator/member who will inherit the Wall founder's rights and will become the new Wall founder.

The new Wall founder will then elect a new administrator before being able to leave his Wall.

Account deletion is permanent and all related data will be removed.

How can I delete my Wall?

Only a Wall's founder can delete a Wall. From the mobile application, the Wall founder can delete the Wall by going to the Wall Administration screen, accessible via the Settings section.

From the Web, go to Preferences by clicking on your name on the top right corner and then edit your Wall information accordingly. Remove all the members of the Wall to delete this Wall.

The Wall will be permanently deleted along with all associated content. A message will notify the Wall founder that all Wall data is being permanently deleted.

How can I delete a post?

If you are an administrator for the Wall, you can delete any pictures or posts that are on your Wall.

If you're not an administrator, you can only delete pictures and posts that you have shared. You will not be able to delete content posted by other people.

If you'd like to delete content, open the detailed view of that post from the Activity post. Please note that an administrator of a Wall can give others administrator rights from the Wall Settings menu.

How do I delete my account?

To delete your account, go to the Menu in your FamilyWall for Sprint app and click on Settings. Click on your profile picture and click on the Leave this Wall button. Follow this procedure for every Wall you are a part of.

Once you have left all of your Walls, your entire account and all attached shared content will be permanently deleted, and you will be redirected to the Welcome Screen of the application.

Can I be a member of multiple Walls?

Yes, the Multi-Wall feature allows you to create and join as many Walls as you'd like.

4. MAIN FEATURES

With FamilyWall for Sprint, you can share a variety of content with friends and family, such as:

  • Notes (i.e A group message on the Wall, like a "post-it")

Most of this content can be easily shared by clicking on the Action Bar at the bottom of the Activity section

PHOTOS

How do I post a photo on FamilyWall for Sprint?

To share a photo with the members of a Wall:

  • Click on the Add Photo icon in the bottom action bar of the Activity section.
  • Click on the grey container and choose between Take a Photo, which will enable you to take a new photo to share, or Choose a Photo, which will allow you to choose an existing photo from your album. Add a caption for this photo.
  • Click on the Save icon to confirm your choice and share the photo.
Where can I see the shared photos?

All shared content can be viewed in the Activity section. If you want to see all the shared photos and videos, they are available in the Gallery section of the Main Menu.

The Gallery is composed of two folders: a common folder where you can catch up with all the shared photos and videos on the Wall and your individual personal Gallery.

Can I create a new photo album?

Not yet, but this feature is on our Roadmap.

How do I change my Wall's cover?

The Wall cover is the main photo on the Wall, available at the top of the Activity section. By selecting on the existing cover photo you can change this cover photo.

To change your cover on Android or iPhone apps, just click on the picture. A menu will pop up that will give you the choice between choosing a picture from your device Gallery or taking one using your device camera.

Once the photo has been picked from your Gallery or taken by your camera, the new photo will update.

CALENDAR & EVENTS

How do I create an event?

To create an event:

  • Click on the Calendar icon at the bottom of the Activity screen in the center of the Action bar.
  • Go to the Calendar section of the application's Main Menu. Click on the Add icon at the top right corner of the Calendar view.

For any event, you can specify the following information. Only the title and the schedule are mandatory fields:

  • A photo
  • A title
  • Start and end dates and hour
  • The invited members
  • The place
  • A reminder
  • A repeat delay
  • A description

On the website, go to the Events section and click on the Add button at the upper right corner of the Calendar view, provide the required information, and click on Save.

How do I see all the created events?

As soon as an event is created, a new post appears on the Wall. This new post can only be viewed by members who are invited to the event.

You can also see the different events in the Calendar section. Click on the menu icon then on the Calendar section. The default view is the monthly view with dots to show you how busy your schedule is. The number of dots represents the number of events. However, if there are more than three events in one day, only three dots are shown.

By tapping on the List icon in the upper right hand corner of the Calendar section, you can see your different events in List Mode.

If you are using the website, go to the Events section and the Calendar will display all the created events.

How do I modify an event?

To modify the details of an event:

  • Tap on any event displayed on the Activity Wall then Calendar default view mode or Calendar List view mode in order to switch to the detailed view.
  • Click on the Edit icon in the upper right corner of the screen and modify any necessary event details.
How do I delete an event?

To delete an event on the app:

  • Tap on any event displayed on the Activity Wall or in the Calendar in order to switch to the detailed view. Click on the deletion icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen and confirm it by clicking on Delete.
  • In the Calendar List view mode, swipe left on any event to display the Delete button . Click on it and the event will be deleted.

TASKS & LISTS

How do I create a new list?

To create a custom list:

  • Select the Main Menu icon and then select the Lists section.
  • Press on the List icon in the top right corner. This will open the default Lists screen.
  • Press on the Add icon in the top right corner.
  • On the new List screen, enter the name of the list you'd like to create and press on the Save icon.
  • Your newly created list appears on the Lists screen. You can click on it to open it and start adding tasks.
How do I create a task?

To set up a task:

  • Open the Add Task screen either from Activity, using the action bar on the bottom (the task icon is on the bottom right), or from the Lists section by pressing on the icon on the top left hand corner.
  • On the Add Task screen, enter the task description.
  • Enter the task's assignees by clicking on members you'd like to assign the task to. If you'd like to assign the task to all Wall members, press on the Wall icon on the left.
  • You can fill in a due date and reminder for the task.
  • You can also set this task to be part of a predefined List (such as To-Dos, Shopping, or any other list you can create).
  • Press on the Save icon in the top right corner.

The created task appears then on your Activity wall.

How do I complete or delete a task?

You can complete a task by pressing on the empty checkbox either from the detailed task view or from the Lists section. To delete it, open the detailed view of the task and click on the Delete Icon in the upper right hand corner.

How do I delete a list?

To delete a list:

  • Open the menu by clicking on the Main Menu icon
  • Go to the Lists section
  • Tap on the upper right hand corner to display the List view mode
  • Tap on the Edit icon to edit or delete the list.

Then:

  • On iPhone, click on the deletion icon right next to the list you want to delete and confirm the deletion by clicking on the red Delete button .
  • On Android, press and hold on the list you want to delete and confirm the deletion by clicking on Delete in the pop-up menu.

LOCATION

How do I share my location?

To share your location by "checking in" on the app:

  • Click on the Check-in icon at the bottom of the Activity screen (in the center of the "action" bar).
  • Click on the Check-in icon at the top right corner of the Location view. Go to the Location section (or Map on Android) by clicking on Location in the application's Main Menu.

For any check-in, you can specify the following information: (address field is mandatory)

  • Choose between your current location or a "place" (an already-defined location).
  • A title
  • A photo
How do I check the location of the other members of my Wall?

Members must manually check in by publishing their locations in order for their location's to be visible to Wall members.

As soon as a member checks in, a post is published on the Activity wall and his or her geographical position is updated in the Location section (Map on Android).

What is a "place"?

Places are favorite areas you can define inside the FamilyWall for Sprint app, such as home, school, work, or the park. The Wall's members can create as many places as they want.

You've just arrived at home? In just a few clicks, you can announce it to everyone on your Wall.

How do I create a "place"?

To create a place:

  • Click on the Check-in icon on the bottom of the Activity screen and click on the Add a Place icon.
  • Select Location from the Main Menu and clicking on the Check-in icon in the top right corner of the Location view.

For any check-in, you can specify the following information: (address field is mandatory)

  • Choose between your current location or an already-defined place.
  • A title
  • A photo
Do I need to be at the location I want to set up as a place?

No, you can create a place from anywhere.

How do I delete/modify a place?

You can only delete a place if you are the one who created it. To modify or delete a place:

  • Select Location from the Main Menu.
  • Click on the List icon in the upper right corner.
  • Click on the place you want to delete or modify
  • Click on the Edit Place icon if you want to modify the place. Click on the Delete button .

MESSAGE

How do I send a message or a group message?

To create a conversation with one or more members of the wall:

  • Click on the conversation icon in the upper right hand corner of the Activity screen .
  • Click on the Write a Message icon
  • Select the Wall by clicking on its name (note: you can't create a group conversation between members of different Walls)
  • Select one or more recipients by clicking on their names.
  • Enter your message into the Enter a Text input at the bottom of the screen
  • Click on the send button
How do I delete an existing conversation?

To delete an existing conversation:

On iOS devices:

  • Click on the conversation icon in the upper right hand corner of the Activity screen.
  • Swipe the conversation you want to delete to the left.
  • Click on the red Delete button.

On Android devices:

  • Click on the conversation icon in the upper right corner of the Activity screen.
  • Click on the conversation you want to delete.
  • Click on the Delete Icon
  • Confirm your choice by clicking on Delete.
Can I add or delete a member to an existing group conversation?

No, you must start a new group conversation in order to modify the recipients

Can I send photos or videos attached to a text message?

Yes, you can easily send a photo with your message by clicking on the Add icon then on the Photos icon . You can then choose whether you want to take a photo with your camera or import an existing photo from your phone Gallery.

If you are a Premium or a Premium+ member, you can also attach video and sound messages to text messages.

CONTACT

How do I create a contact?

To create a contact in the contact book, go to the Main Menu and select Contacts section. Click on the add icon in the upper right corner. Enter the necessary information into the different fields and click on the Save icon. You can also directly import a contact from your phonebook by clicking on the phonebook icon.

How do I delete a contact?

To delete a contact:

  • Swipe left on the contact and click on the Delete Icon (iOS).
  • Click on the contact in order to display the detailed view and click on the Trash icon
How do I modify a contact?

To modify a contact, click on the contact in the contact section and click on the Edit icon

SETTINGS

What can I do in Settings?

In the Settings section you can:

  • Access your profile to edit your profile picture and information by clicking on your photo or your name.
  • Manage your Walls by:
    • Editing their name and logo.
    • Managing the administrator and non-administrator rights.
    • Checking the storage usage for each member of the Wall.
  • Select which alerts (push notification) you want to receive on your device.
  • Synchronize your Calendar with your device Calendar or any other Calendar compatible with iCal format, such as Outlook or Google Agenda.
  • Get more information about the app and its features in the Help sub-section.
  • Send feedback to our support team via an email from your phone.
How do I change my alerts preferences?

With FamilyWall for Sprint, you can be automatically notified on your phone when a member of your Wall shares, posts, or comments on any content.

If you want to enable, disable, or modify these alarms, you can do so by clicking on Alerts in the Settings section.

Premium

What is offered with a Premium or Premium+ Subscriptions?

Any member of a Wall is able to upgrade 1 Wall to the Premium service or up to 10 Walls to the Premium+ service. The benefits of the Premium service are:

  • Increased storage capacity for the selected Wall up to 10 GB (Free version supports 100MB)
  • Store and share HD Photos
  • Video and Voice Messaging
  • Video Upload and Sharing

The benefits of the Premium+ service are:

  • Increased storage capacity up to 10 GB for each Wall for up to 10 Walls
  • Store and share HD Photos on all of your Walls for up to 10 Walls
  • Video and Voice Messaging
  • Video Upload and Sharing on all of your Walls for up to 10 Walls
How much do the Premium and Premium+ Service cost?

The FamilyWall for Sprint Premium Service is just $2.99 per month to upgrade one Wall.

The FamilyWall for Sprint Premium+ Service is just $5.99 per month to upgrade up to 10 Walls.

How can I upgrade my Wall to Premium or Premium+?

To upgrade to Premium or Premium+ you will need to select the Menu then select Premium. You will then need to pick the Wall that you wish to upgrade for Premium or one of the Walls you wish to upgrade for Premium+. After that, you will be prompted to confirm your subscription by Apple iTunes for Google Play.

If you're a Sprint consumer and that you use the Android app, your purchase is charged directly on your Sprint account and will appear on your Sprint bill.

How do I cancel my Premium or Premium+ Subscription?

First you will have to be the person who originally subscribed to the Premium or Premium+ service. If you are, you will need to select Menu, Premium, and press on the Wall with the Solid Star (which indicates the Wall with the Premium or Premium+). You will be prompted with a popup with the Unsubscribe button. Press on the Unsubscribe button and you'll be re-directed to Apple iTunes or Google Play to complete and confirm your unsubscription. Remember you must complete this on Google Play or Apple iTunes depending on your device.

If you're a Sprint consumer and that you purchased the Premium or Premium+ service from the Android app, you'll complete your unsubscription directly from the application.

Please note that if you have over 100MB of storage, then no member of the Wall will be able to add additional photos or videos. They will have access to everything that has been uploaded so far.

I am unable to upgrade my Wall to Premium or Premium+?
